Fort-de-France is the capital of Martinique and one of the major cities in the Caribbean. The island is dominated by the active volcano Mount Pelee. Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch section of the island Saint Maarten, which, geographically 60% percent French and 40% Dutch.
