Nouméa is situated on a peninsula protected by coral reefs in the south of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre. The city’s harbor serves as the chief port for New Caledonia. Mystery Island is a tiny islet on the southern tip of the Vanuatu archipelago. This completely uninhabited islet is surrounded by coral reefs, crystal clear waters and a variety of stunningly beautiful marine life.  Cruise ships stop regularly at Mystery Island and visitors have the chance to walk around the shore, swim and relax on the beach.
