La Romana is a city of the Dominican Republic, situated along the Caribbean Sea, in the southeastern part of the country. It is built on the western mouth of the river Romana.

Rich in amber, Taino Indian culture and breathtaking natural history, this paradise on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in the northeastern part of the Dominican Republic, is famed for its rich nature - -tropical forests, coconut groves, waterfalls, protected national parks- and magnifiscent beaches with turquoise crystal clear waters. Bahia de Samana is popular as the mating and birthing grounds for humpback whales.
