Brisbane is the capital and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland. It is one of the oldest cities in Australia, named after the Brisbane River on which it is located. Nouméa is situated on a peninsula protected by coral reefs in the south of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre. The city’s harbor serves as the chief port for New Caledonia.
