Visible for miles from sea, the White Cliffs of Dover are an instantly recognizable symbol of England. Kristiansund, the city of flowers and culture, is the capital of Southern Norway, located between the metropolises of Stavanger and Oslo. It is the country's fifth-largest city, a town of commerce, festivals and natural beauty, a city with a rich history, also known as the Klipfish (dried, salted cod) and the opera town. Beautifully situated on four islands at the edge of the ocean, Kristiansund has a spectacular harbor, an intimate, colorful and convivial town that is perfect for day trips. The access to the city center with the fish market "Fiskebrygga" and old town “Posebyen” is easy. During your walk, you will pass a 17th-century fortress, and a public beach.The town has a wide range of attractions such as the Atlantic Road, only 30 min by bus, ranked the world’s best road trip by the British newspaper ‘The Guardian’. The road, 8,3 kms long, zigzags across bridges and skerries, bringing you right out to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean!

The biggest city of Rogaland county is very conveniently located in the south-western corner of Norway and forms the shortcut to the Norwegian fjords. The Stavanger region claims to be the cradle of the Vikings. Having been European Capital of Culture in 2008 has added extra cultural dimensions to “The Petroleum Capital of Norway”, another title that Stavanger holds, as it is considered the center of the oil industry in Norway. There are several waterfalls in the town. A popular hiking path starts at the town center, following the East bank of the Fjarðará, the river that flows through the center of town. Further up the river there are 25 waterfalls. During the winter, a skiing area is used in Fjarðarheiði mountain pass. Skálanes nature and heritage centre can be found 17 km (10.6 mi) east of the town. The nature reserve is home to a diverse range of wildlife, as well as catering for visitors and anyone wanting to explore the south side of the fjord.

Djúpivogur is a typical small fishing village on the east coast of Iceland.  Visitors have easy access to Vatnajokull, the biggest glacier in Europe, and to the magical scenery of the Vatnajokull lagoon.

Iceland's second-largest city offers a picturesque harbor as well as numerous artists' workshops and galleries. The town of Akureyri is the administrative, transportation and commercial centre of north Iceland, an important port and fishing centre. It lies at the head of the 60km long Eyjafjörður, the longest fjord in Iceland. The port of Ísafjörður is the largest of all harbours located in the Westfjords region of Iceland, located in the Skutulsfjörður. It is also the country's third busiest port of call for cruise ships which make a dramatic journey up the Ísafjarðardjúp Bay. This natural harbour is a perfect jumping-off place for hiking, biking and kayaking. Close to the cruise quays is the Maritime Museum, located in one of the oldest houses in Ísafjörður, which traces the life and history of the settlement with a fascinating array of fishing gear and variety of boats. You will also see the oldest group of houses in Iceland, merchant properties dating back to the 18th century.

Paamiut, formerly Frederikshåb, is a town in southwestern Greenland in the Sermersooq municipality. There is local museum downtown in original buildings from the previous century, among them a carpenter workshop and a salt warehouse. The Danish Crown Princely family visited the town as part of an official tour of Greenland in summer 2014

Greenland’s capital Nuuk, is fueled on fresh air, strong coffee and diverse personalities. It was founded in 1728 and is a city of vitality, surrounded by immense nature, home to gourmet restaurants, fashion boutiques and the Northern Lights inspired Katuaq Cultural Center. A stroll through the picturesque Old Harbor shows that history and traditions remain strong in this growing city. Marvel at mummies in the Greenland National Museum. Try a tasting flight of local craft beers at Greenland’s largest microbrewery. Learn about urban arctic living, evaluate new and old expressions of Inuit culture- indigenous peoples inhabiting the Arctic regions of Greenland, Canada and the United States, descendants of what anthropologists call the Thule culture, who settled in west Greenland in 1300, and they moved into east Greenland over the following century-, at the Nuuk Art Museum.

Greenland's southernmost town, Nanortalik is cruise destination surrounded by the steep mountain peaks of Tasermiut Fjord, whose rugged landscape and lush vegetation attracts serious climbers all year long. Inside the fjord are the ruins of an Augustinian monastery and the towering trees of the Qingua Valley.Visit the old town around the colonial harbor, thought to be the last point of departure of the Norse voyagers when they sailed to or from Greenland. Qaqortoq is the fourth-largest town in Greenland, with about 3200 inhabitants. The name "Qaqortoq" means "the White Place," and indeed, 85% of the area is under ice. Explore the small town and learn how people survive on this immense, remote island administered by the Danes but desperate for individual recognition of its distinctive culture. In the streets of Qaqortok there are many artistic sculptures made on stones, like totems, and a nice museum devoted to the expeditions to the northern part of the globe. You will also see the town fountain, the oldest in Greenland, built in 1927, the fish market, the older of two Lutheran churches in Qaqortoq, established in 1832.

Heimaey is the largest of 15-18 islands in the Westman Islands archipelago, 13.4 km2, located just off the south-west coast of Iceland's mainland. It is considered the "Pompeii of the North", after the Icelandic eruption in Heimaey in 1973, which buried around four hundreds of houses. An entire museum, Eldheimar has been built around the remains of one of the homes. It's totally worth seeing the museum and get closer to the history of Heimaey. Everything is within walking distance. While in town, you will see the extraordinary Stafkirkjan, a Norse timber church, a gift from the Norwegians to commemorate 1000 years since Christianity, the Aquarium and Natural History Museum (Sæheimar).There are hiking paths all over the island so any reasonably fit traveler should be able to enjoy the sightseeing on foot, choosing exciting natural trail tours.

Founded in 1916, Runavik has an important port, on the south half of the isle of Eysturoy, the second-largest island in the Faroe Islands. History tells us that both the King of Denmark and even earlier the Vikings used this harbour because it was the safest in the Faroe Islands. Nature lovers will be truly fascinated by Eysturoy, not only by its impressive countryside, but also by its friendly, hospitable people. Explore Torshavn - the smallest capital in the world, enjoy hiking around the beautiful lake Toftavatn with the rich birdlife, visit the remnants of 1000-year-old Viking settlement at Toftanes in the village Leirvik before you head back to Runavik.

Stornoway is an idyllic town on the Isle of Lewis, in the Western Isles, an island chain off the west coast of mainland Scotland. Stornoway was founded by Vikings in the early 9th century. Today, it is the main port of the island due to its sheltered location. The Western Isles offer stunning sceneries and have a rich history. It is worth visiting the prehistoric Callanish Stones, a local landmark on the Isle of Lewis, constructed 1000 years before Stonehenge.
