Today we are visiting Genoa, the capital of the Province of Genoa and of the region of Liguria, a powerful commercial center seaport and city-state. It was the birthplace of the great adventurer Christopher Columbus and its maritime roots have fostered a dialect that has absorbed elements of Neapolitan, Calabrese and Portuguese over the centuries. Genoa's harbor is a bustling swarm of activity, hosting a museum and an aquarium and has a magnificent medieval flair, ideal for a nice stroll. This port is our launching point for the sprawling metropolis of Milan.

Marseille is the largest port on the Mediterranean, France's second largest city and a virtual melting pot of peoples and cultures. It is a unique city with a feel and culture all its own. It is also a place of striking contrasts, from the fishing boats of the picturesque Vieux Port to the modern Canebiere. Dominating the harbor is the infamous Chateau d'If, the rocky prison from which Alexandre Dumas' "Count of Monte Cristo" escaped. If you have time, explore the countryside around Arles and Avignon, immortalized in the canvases of Van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso, try the renowned bouillabaisse or tour the lovely towns and vineyards of Provence. 

Barcelona is one of the world's greatest treasures, a global capital of commerce, fashion, culture and sunshine. Cruise visitors should start with a walk down Las Ramblas, the glorious tree-shaded thoroughfare at the heart of the city, enjoy a dive in the wonderful beaches nearby, but, most of all, see what visionary architect Antoni Gaudi wrought. Seven of his creations have been honored as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including La Sagrada Familia, the Park Guell and Casa Mila. Time provided, you can also visit the former Olympic Ring on the hill of Montjuic, home to world-class parks, fountains and museums. Gibraltar is an amazing co-mingling of past, present and future.The Rock of Gibraltar was considerred by the Ancient Greeks as the pillars of Hercules, marking the end of the world. It is at the Top of the Rock where you begin to understand and appreciate Gibraltar’s strategic geographical location and the important role it has played throughout history. The journey to the top of the Rock rewards you with a truly breathtaking view. From a height of 426m you will see the African coastline, where the waters of the Atlantic meet the Mediterranean, Spain’s Costa del Sol and a panoramic view of the City far below, the quays, marinas and bays. Stand on top of the Rock of Gibraltar and you feel as if you were on top of the world.

Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and port. Its most notable sights are Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the Islamic world and is known for its majestic 200-metre-high minaret, Place Mohammed V, flanked by majestic white government buildings constructed in the distinct French colonial style, Parc De La Ligue Arabe, the city's largest public park and La Corniche, the main beach area with lots of waterfront restaurants. From the city of Bogart and Bergman, take a tour to Rabat, Morocco's serene capital and to Marrakech, city of souks, storytellers, snake charmers and the famed Koutoubia Minaret.

Mindelo is located on the volcanic island of São Vicente, in Cape Verde. Mindelo is the cultural capital of the Cape Verde Islands which lie off North Africa's tropical coast. It is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant night life and Afro-Portuguese influences. On the waterfront, near the fish market, there is a replica of Lisbon’s Belem Tower. The Cape Verdean singer Cesaria Evora started her career singing in Mindelo.

Salvador da Bahia is the largest city on the northeast coast of Brazil. The Historic Centre of the city is renowned for its Portuguese colonial architecture and it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The beaches are ideal for swimming, sailing, diving, surfing and underwater fishing.

The complex consists of 4 volcanic islands, the Pitcairn (the only inhabited), Oeno, Henderson, and Ducie, which are long distances to each other. It is the most isolated occupation of Britain. Tourism accounts for 80% of the annual income of each Pitcher. Since 2009, the island's government has favored tourism especially through the implementation of the MV Claymore II program, which provides tourists with an opportunity for adventurous holidays on the islands for three or ten days. Already some families have invested in private independent units for rent for tourists. Each year about ten cruise ships arrive on the island for a few hours, boosting the locals economically by buying souvenirs, stamps and local products. For safety reasons, children under the age of 16 need a complete application form to visit the island.

Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia, in the Pacific Ocean. The city is located on the island of Tahiti. It is not the typical tropical paradise but more of an industrial port and a very busy town center with heavy traffic. The French and Polynesian charm is present in small doses.

Mo'orea is an island of volcanic origin in French Polynesia, one of the Windward Islands. Because of its striking scenery and easy access to Tahiti’s capital, Mo'orea is a very popular honeymoon destination.

Aitutaki, also traditionally known as Araura and Utataki, is one of the Cook Islands , north of Rarotonga. The barrier reef that forms the basis of Aitutaki is roughly the shape of an equilateral triangle with sides 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) in length. The southern edge of the triangle is almost totally below the surface of the ocean, and the eastern side is composed of a string of small islands including Mangere, Akaiami, and Tekopua. The western side of the atoll contains many of Aitutaki's important features including a boat passage through the barrier reef allowing for anchorage close to shore at Arutanga.

Rarotonga is the most populous island of the Cook Islands, an archipelago located in Polynesia, in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, between French Polynesia and Tonga. Rarotonga is a very popular tourist destination with many resorts,  a beautiful lagoon encircled by reefs, sandy beaches and impressive, lush green mountains.

Auckland is the largest metropolitan area in both Polynesia and New Zealand. It is situated on a narrow isthmus of land that joins the Northland peninsula to the rest of New Zealand’s North Island. Auckland is a major cruise ship port of call. The ships dock at Queens Wharf, within walking distance of downtown. The concrete and glass Sky Tower, a massive "needle" type building, and the striking Harbor Bridge are the city's most iconic landmarks. Auckland is a mixture of south pacific and Asian cultures and a Maori heritage. The city offers unique dining experiences and endless shopping opportunities.

Tauranga is a city on the east coast of New Zealand’s North Island. It is situated in the Bay of Plenty and is protected by Matakana Island. Tauranga is one of the major resorts in New Zealand, famous for its beautiful beaches, historical highlights, interesting architecture and tasty seafood.

Lyttelton is a port town at the north-western end of Banks Peninsula and close to Christchurch, on the South Island of New Zealand. The town is situated on the lower slopes of the Port Hills, which separate Lyttelton from the city of Christchurch. Lyttelton’s port lies in the caldera of an extinct volcano. It’s a colourful town, with bohemian artists and a local maritime museum

It is a university city noted for its unique Victorian railway. Nouméa is situated on a peninsula protected by coral reefs in the south of New Caledonia's main island, Grande Terre. The city’s harbor serves as the chief port for New Caledonia. Noumea holds unique waters and beaches and its expansive waterfront host all kinds of sea activities. Noumea also offers a range of restaurants serving French and Asian cuisine. 

Apia is the capital city of Samoa, an island nation in the South Pacific Ocean, halfway between Hawaii and New Zealand. Apia is located on the north side of the island of Upolu. The island is a tropical tourist destination with breathtaking sights and natural wonders. The Museum of Samoa highlights the history of the island through artifacts and sculptures crafted centuries ago. Visitors can enjoy water parks, casinos, day tours and attractions and buy unique souvenirs such as handcrafted sculptures, jewelry and woodcarvings

Pago Pago is the capital city of American Samoa, a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean that lie between Hawaii and New Zealand. Pago Pago is surrounded by coral reefs, rainforests, green mountains and waterfalls. The town is dominated by Pioa Mountain, known among the locals as “The Rainmaker” because its summit draws moisture-bearing clouds, causing frequent showers of rain. The waters off the island are home to various species of marine turtles, while whales and porpoises are regular visitors.

Visit the Hawaiian capital and its signature beach, Waikiki. From here, you can  explore the dormant volcano of Diamond Head, see Pearl Harbor U.S. naval base, the military target that ignited American entry into World War II and get to know one part of that history at the USS Arizona Memorial and another at the Punchbowl military cemetery.

Our ship reaches the east coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, which is characterised by lush gardens, majestic waterfalls and impressive volcanoes. The ships docks at Hilo, the island's largest port. From here, you can visit Lili'uokalani Gardens, an authentic Japanese garden located on the shore of Kuhio Bay, 30 acres of pagodas, ponds and picnic areas. Of you decide to travel inland, along the furrowed lower reaches of Mauna Kea, you will see Kolekole stream, which plunges 442 feet over a cliff at Akaka Falls. Closer in to town you can see Rainbow Falls, an 80-foot drop or take a short drive down the road to Kilauea, that fiery rent in the side of Mauna Loa.

Los Angeles, California, is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world and the second-largest in the United States. The "City of Angels" is an exciting metropolis, a world-class premium shopping destination and leads the world in the creation of television productions, video games and recorded music. Not to miss, are the Hollywood Entertainment District (the area surrounding the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue) and LA Fashion District, with more than 1.000 fashion-related businesses - the largest concentration in the Western United States. Continue to the "Platinum Triangle", Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Holmby Hills, as all three areas are regarded as the most affluent within Los Angeles, check out downtown LA, with the historic Union Station, El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument at Paseo de la Plaza- a collection of historic buildings, artifacts, museums and exhibits (both indoor and outdoor), continue to Old Chinatown Central Plaza, Los Angeles State Historic Park, Little Tokyo District, Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). For beach lovers, don't miss Santa Monica, including Third Street Promenade, Venice Beach and the Malibu Coast with more than twenty-four beaches to choose from.

Cabo San Lucas is the entertainment hub and the end of the road, along the southern tip of Baja California and is rated as one of Mexico's top 5 tourist destinations. San The Old town, San Jose del Cabo, exudes classic Mexico. In between the two cities, the resort-fringed coast is slathered in sunshine. Combine fine shopping, blue surf and big fish at beaches that shine: Lover's Beach, Playa Medano (the most popular, 3,2 kms long), Chileno and Las Playitas, a series of mini-beaches tucked into weathered coves. Land’s End is by far the most impressive attraction Cabo has to offer. Hop on a tourist boat (panga) and head to El Arco (the Arch), a distinctive rock formation at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas. It is here that the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

Our visit to Puntarenas, the capital and largest city in the Province of Puntarenas, on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, is a discovery of the richness of the area. If you choose a nature tour, you will see the rainforest from up high during a canopy tour through wispy ferns, winding lianas and delicate orchids. There is also a possibility to taste nature’s bounty at one of the plantations which produce the country’s famously rich coffee. If you prefer to relax, just lay back, surrounded by lush palms and crystal clear waters. You may also choose a trip to Monteverde National Park (80 kms distance), which is considered a major ecotourism destination in Costa Rica, an island which may look small, but it conceals mysterious cloud forests, quiet beaches and extraordinary wildlife, that have granted her the title "The Switzerland of Central America".

Ocho Rios is a town on the north coast of Jamaica. It used to be a fishing village but nowadays it’s a tourist destination.  Travelers can visit Columbus Park, where Columbus supposedly first came on land. Dunn’s River Falls, a famous waterfall and a major Caribbean tourist attraction, is located near Ocho Rios.

Philipsburg is the capital of the Dutch section of the island Saint Maarten, which, geographically 60% percent French and 40% Dutch.

This Caribbean gem lies between clear Caribbean Sea and the Great Salt Pond, on a gentle arc of land with a saltwater lake to the north and a bay to the south.  There is an esplanade running alongside a white sand beach, giving you the opportunity to choose either shopping or sunning. Founded in 1478, the town is characterized by an important historical and cultural heritage, which is depicted in the district of Vegueta, the oldest quarter of the town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, where you can see the Cathedral of Santa Ana, Casa Museo de Colón, Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno & Museo Canario.

Palma is a busy commercial and cultural center, capital city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands of Spain. Situated on the south coast of the island on the Bay of Palma, it became a tourist destination in the 1950s and till today it is considered as one of Europe’s major holiday destinations.The historic centre is the oldest part of the city and a refreshing area for a stroll at the narrow and shady streets, which will give you a chance to peek in at a number of private courtyards. The city flourished during the 19th century and today, it mixes perfectly, the modern hotel chains and flashy shops with the old architecture in the Old Town. A walk along the narrow streets will reveal the restored 13-th century cathedral standing proud in the center of town. Among Palma's lovely sights are the Gothic-style Bellver Castle, the Almudaina Palace, once home to Mallorcan kings, the Arab bath building, the only building dating to the Arab settlement, Plaça del Mercat and interesting art nouveau buildings.

La Coruna is ta capital of the province of la Coruna in Galicia, in the northwest of the Iberian peninsula. During your visit, you can see the 2nd century lighthouse named Tower of Hercules, which is the oldest and most famous image of la Coruna city, the old town and quay side glass city districts, the tomb of Sir John Moore and enjoy an aperitif at the seaside cafés. La Coruna is the gateway for a tour to Santiago de Compostela, one of Christianity's holiest sites.

Spain’s tenth largest city, is a magnificent “cocktail” of architecture, tradition, sea and mountain, character and history. Continue to  the historic center of the city either as the “casco,” meaning “the old quarter,” a pedestrian-friendly area featuring a variety of shops, restaurants and bars, visit La Ribera, one of Europe’s largest indoor markets, enter Santiago Cathedral and check out the Zubizuro Bridge, also known as the Campo Volantin Bridge, which connects the two banks of the Nervion River close to the city center. If you have time, visit the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao with works by artists such as El Greco, Goya, Gauguin, Velazquez and Picasso and take the funicular from Plaza Funicular to the gardens of Artxandra, from where you will have a splendid panoramic view.

Warmunde is a small but popular seaside resort town in northeast Germany, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, over two hours away to the country's capital, Berlin. It is considered a suburb of the university city of Rostock close by.
