Gardner bay, Española Island, Ecuador

Sea lions bask lazily on Gardner Bay, a white-sand beach which is one of the longest in Galapagos. The charming Española mockingbird often hurries to greet visitors, and you can sometimes see Galapagos hawks flying overhead. There are marine iguanas and Sally lightfoot crabs on the rocks at the end of the beach. Snorkeling is also very enjoyable at Isla Tortuga and Gardner Islet.

Cormorant point, Ecuador

Τhe landing beach is made up of olive-green sand composed of volcanic material featuring magnesium, iron, and silica. Here you'll find playful sea lions, green sea urchins, and vegetation unique to this part of the island such as the Floreana Daisy. Walk a bit further to find the white sands of Flour Beach, composed of finely-crushed coral. Here you'll find the flamingos as they wade through muddy water in search of shrimp (which is what makes their feathers bright pink). Bird lovers will also be thrilled to spot pintail ducks, stilts, sandpipers, and shore birds. Flour Beach is also where you can find nesting green sea turtles and watch rays hang out in the shallow waters.

Moreno point, Ecuador

Moreno Point is located near Elizabeth Bay on the west coast of Isabela Island. The plethora of birds seen during a dinghy ride along the striking rocky shores or a hike along path through lava rock leading to tide pools and mangroves create a birdwatcher’s delight. In the tide pools, green sea turtles or white-tip sharks can be spotted.

Urvina bay, Ecuador

This area at the foot of Alcedo volcano was thrust upward from beneath the sea by volcanic activity in 1954, and much coral, rounded stones, and other skeletons of marine formations can be seen on land. The marine iguanas are colourful and larger than usual land iguanas have taken advantage of the new rocks; the marine iguanas, although not common here, are some of the largest recorded in the islands

Espinoza point, Ecuador

As you come in to Punta Espinosa, be sure to look out for sea turtles in the shallow bay. If you land on the rocks, you'll see several tidal pools of varying sizes. Check these out: tidal pools are often teeming with life including small fish, molluscs and more. If you're very lucky, a sea turtle or ray may be trapped in the pool, which can often make for good photos.

Vicente roca point, Ecuador

Here the remnants of an ancient volcano form two turquoise coves with a bay well protected from the ocean swells. The spot is a popular anchorage from which to explore the cliffs, where masked and blue-footed boobies perch while flightless cormorants inhabit the shoreline. The upwelling of coldwater currents in this part of the Galápagos give rise to an abundance of marine life, which make Punta Vicente Roca one of the archipelago’s sough after dive spots.

South plaza island, Ecuador

South Plaza is a small island off the east coast of Santa Cruz in the Galápagos Islands. South Plaza was formed by lava up streaming from the bottom of the ocean. Despite its small size it is home to a large number of species and it is famous for its extraordinary flora. That is why this island is very popular with visitors. On the steep banks it is possible to see a great number of birds such as nesting red-billed tropicbirds and swallow-tailed gulls, but most of all, enjoying the beautiful view from atop the steep banks or strolling along the base of the cliff is an extremely pleasurable experience.
